And also bear’d.
I’m glad I bought more than one Oppo sticker.
Tomorrow I’m going to take it for a nice long drive in the mountains and see how it shakes out. So far I’m thrilled with it. The transmission shifts are like butter, it’s comfortable, and I’m having a blast driving it even on short trips. I haven’t been this happy with a vehicle purchase since the Ranger.

Sweet, congrats! I saw you saying you switched the cube out for something, and I figured it was a truck, but I’ve been wondering which one. I like the number of doors.

I’m probably about to find out how functional, since my partner's best friend is about to move back to Colorado, and I think she'll be staying with her parents for a short time before she gets a new place.

Good call. I approve.
I just bought this t-shirt because I thought it was cute.

Thanks!
I like single cabs, but I’ve kind of always wanted an extended cab. I like how the seat base folds up for more space.

Me too, thanks! I can't wait to fling it around some dirt roads.

Owning a pickup is the best.

My first vehicle was a ‘72 C10, 307, 3 on the tree, 2wd. I explored a ton of backroads in NY with that thing. It was a blast!

Yeah, I like both those styles. I have an extended cab truck myself, largely so my last dog could ride in the back row (she was too excitable to trust in the passenger seat).
Crew cabs, however, are a silly compromise in my book.

They’re for people like me, who have kids to drive around in them. I like all cab styles of pickup. Pick the best one for the task at hand. For me, that’s the crew cab. My “crew” are 4 and 6 years old. They don’t do much work yet, but they’re pretty dang cute, if I do say so myself.

I figured when you said the Cube was gone, you'd bought a truck. Very good sir :)

I’ve never been a truck-first vehicle owner, so for me my main vehicle will be what I cart my kids around in. I don’t need the truck part enough to want to have a cargo bed on my main vehicle. So crew cabs aren’t for me.
But if you do need the bed often enough, and you need to fit kids in car seats through teenaged, they make a lotta sense. Especially if the kids are cute.

Makes sense to me. I don’t drive enough to justify two vehicles, and I do enough truck stuff that not having one would be a huge PITA. My commute is only 4 miles from one suburb to the next, so it's cheaper to just buy some more gas than to buy even a beater . Plus, the truck was really cheap. I paid less than $22k out the door for a brand new full size crew cab.

Half the reason I bought a truck is so all my city-dwelling, largely non-car-owning friends would have access to a truck.
Not that they’ve used it much. But I have helped one acquire a couch, another get rid of a mattress she’d had in a side room for over four years, and a third get a bunch of rain barrels.

It was. I was actually single at the time, and was about to buy a regular cab short bed pickup, but the crew cab was only $2k more. It has served me very well since then. I'm happy about the choice I made. Having this thing at the ready to do everything I need, has enabled me the freedom to do other automotive shenanigans that didn't need to be reliable in any way.
